What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of high ranking. If you are going to have a web site and you want it to be seen by the maximum amount of people, you need to have it optimized for the search engines. There is a lot to that, it is a balance between key words, description (meta tags), content, verbiage, links, and other factors. You need to rank with google, they are the largest and most used, because of this they set the rules.
